This is a great weeks worth of lessons if you are off timetable but want to keep some structure and excitement for the children whilst writing. 5 Lessons have been created based around the BFG and the Sainsburys Christmas advert. You can you tube the Sainsburys advert and the film is free to watch on Youtube (older version) New Version is on Netflix should you wish to use that film instead, both work well with this unit of work. 5 Lessons (lesson 3 does not really require an worksheet activity) 1 Notebook with 5 lessons on and all planned out Ideal for Years 2, 3 and Year 4 Trialled and tested and the children were fully engaged and really loved this weeks learning,

Morning activities for the whole class. Children can use jotter books or whiteboards for any of the activities. A great way to start the day, class discussions, childrens chance to voice. Works well for Years 2-6

This is a really easy set of activities to follow. Aimed at YEAR 3 KS2 Guided Reading Resource You will need a copy of Roald Dahl’s Version of ‘The Magic Finger’ Text to support this unit of work. PDF are free to download Weeks 1-4 I will be adding more to this unit

History Topic: To develop an awareness of how toys have changed over time. Looking first hand at our own grandparents and our parents and ourselves. To compare how toys have changed since our grandparents. Enquiry Question – How have toys changed since my grandparents time? 7 Weeks of planning, worksheets/ activity page for every lesson. Lesson 6 is a Art/ Sketching lesson so their is no worksheet needed.

A quality resource and full of fun unit of work aimed at Year 1. Could be adapted to Reception, EY. 9 Lessons/Weeks worth of planning You will need a copy of ‘The Naughty Bus by Jan and Jerry Oke’ You will need a toy/ model of a red bus. I have attached the Note Book for Lessons 1, 2 & 3 and also the activity sheet. a great way to introduce field work and look at the geography of the school, buildings and playground. LESSON OVERVIEW; Lesson 1 - I can understand plan view. Lesson 2 - I can use plan view. Lesson 3 - I can draw simple routes on a map. Lesson 4 - I can devise a simple map Lesson 5 - I can collect information about the local environment. Lesson 6 - I can use photographs to recognise areas around our school - FIELDWORK Lesson 7 - I can identify basic human and physical features in each of the four compass directions - FIELDWORK Lesson 8 - I devise a simple map - FIELDWORK Lesson 9 - I can create a key and symbols for a map. Lesson 10 - I can compare similarities and differences using different geographical sources.

Can be adapted to use for any topic. I use at the end of a unit of work - children make a booklet to show parents as a way of assessing what the children have learned. Equally, filler activity on a visit, trip or workshop to take notes/ Sketch in If printed back to back it makes a great 1 Page booklet.
