Imagery in Poetry Edna St Vincent Millay Comparative Essay
This teaches two poems by Edna St Vincent Millay - Wild Swans & Ebb. It looks at the imagery used in both ans works towards a comparative AVU-type essay. I used it with a top S3 set but it could be adapted for use with other levels.

The Social Dilemma Listening
Questions for a class to answer while watching the Netflix documentary The Social Dilemma. I used them with a mixed S3 class but they could easily be adapted for use at different levels. Also contains an answer guide.

Pacific Rim Film Study
A PowerPoint and essay plan designed to support the teaching of Guillermo del Toro’s film Pacific Rim. I used with a mixed S1 class but could be adapted for other levels.

Guy Fawkes
Associated resources surrounding Guy Fawkes night. Includes historical sources and scripts for the class to hold a trial as to whether Guy Fawkes was set up or whether he was guilty. Great for a wee bit of fun in the run up to December. I used it with S1 but could easily be adapted for other levels.

The Evil Within
A unit of work on Catherine MacPhail’s dyslexia-friendly novel The Evil Within. Focuses on literacy strategies. Includes a PP, a workbook and an essay scaffold. I used it with an ASN S2 class but could be adapted for other levels.

The Extinction Trials S. M. Wilson
A PowerPoint designed to teach the novel The Extinction Trials by S.M. Wilson. Also includes an essay plan to support end of unit essay writing. I used this with a middle set S3 class but it could be adapted for use with any secondary class.

The Nightmare Before Christmas Media Study
A PowerPoint, essay plan and various other worksheets designed to support the teaching of the film The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Storm Catchers Tim Bowler
Includes a PowerPoint, crtiical essay plan and a plan for an associated writing task for the novel Strom Catchers by Tim Bowler.

National 5 RUAE/Close Reading Resources
A PowerPoint teaching National 5 RUAE skills and passages and questions on N5-level skills such as effective introduction and conclusion, own words, word choice, imagery, sentence structure and writer’s language.

Listening Resources
Three worksheets with questions and links to various short TED talks. I used these with National 4 in the run up to their listening assessment. There is also a generic BGE listening task which I used with various film trailers.

Resources designed to support teaching the poem Seagulls by Brian McCabe. Includes a PowerPoint, the poem and some worksheets.

Edwin Morgan 8 Mark Question
A PowerPoint with quotes arranged by subject designed to support Nation 5 pupils this year. Each category has a quotation from Glasgow 5th March 1971 (since that's this year's poem) and two quotations from another poem.

Persuasion and Advertising Resources
A PowerPoint and short writing tasks designed to teach about persuasive techniques and advertising. I used it with my S2 class but it could easily be adapted for other levels.
