Year 3 - Respect and Boundaries Scheme of Work

(0)
Primary PSHE - Year 3 - Respect and Boundaries Scheme of Work This 5-week scheme of work is taken from the EC Publishing Primary PSHE scheme. Our curriculum builds progressively, leading to this Year 3 unit on Respect and Boundaries. In Year 1, pupils were introduced to the idea of permission, learning what it means and when it is important to ask for it. They also explored the idea that their bodies belong to them and that they have the right to choose whether or not they want to be touched. In Year 2, this developed into learning about safety rules, understanding which parts of their bodies are private, and being introduced to the idea of bullying through the story One by Kathryn Otoshi. In this Year 3 unit, pupils continue to build on their understanding of personal rights and respectful behaviour. They revisit the idea of permission in greater depth and are introduced to the concept of consent, learning that it means willingly agreeing when someone asks. They will explore different types of boundaries that help keep them safe, including physical boundaries, personal boundaries, and friendship boundaries. The unit also deepens their understanding of bullying by exploring teasing, and helping pupils recognise when playful behaviour can cross the line and hurt someone’s feelings. You can find the bundle here: Year 3 - Respect and Boundaries Bundle The unit includes the following lessons: 1. Seeking Permission 2. Privacy and Boundaries 3. Friendship Boundaries 4. Respectful Behaviour 5. Bullying or Teasing Who are EC Resources? Year 3 -Identity and Wellbeing Scheme of Work

Primary PSHE - Year 3 - Identity and Wellbeing Scheme of Work This 6-week scheme of work is taken from the EC Publishing Primary PSHE scheme. Our curriculum builds progressively, leading to this Year 3 unit on Identity and Wellbeing. In Reception, we were introduced to basic emotions such as happiness, sadness, and anger. In Year 1, we explored a wider range of feelings and began identifying our strengths and interests. In Year 2, we built on this by recognising what makes us unique and talking about how to care for our mental and physical health. In this Year 3 unit, we continue to build on that learning by developing simple strategies to regulate our emotions, including how to re-frame negative thoughts. We will explore the benefits of exercise for both body and mind, and begin to look at our identities in more detail. This includes learning about ethnicity and nationality, and thinking about the values, interests, and beliefs that help shape who we are. You can find the bundle here: Year 3 - Identity and Wellbeing Bundle The unit includes the following lessons: 1. Feelings and me 2. Resilience and Self-Esteem 3. Exercise and Wellbeing 4. Grief and Loss 5. Personal Identity 6. Strengths and Interests Who are EC Resources?
