An assembly all about whether or not we live in a truly equal country. The assembly reflects on women’s and LGBT+ rights, racism, black lives matter, and finally focuses on income inequality - and how and why this is rising. The message of the assembly is that although the UK has improved so much in the last fifty years, we cannot take it for granted that we live in a country of equal opportunities, which is why we need to develop our skills of resilience, perseverance and determination to succeed more than ever.
It lasts around 20 mins (inc clips). The assembly includes animations, statistics, dialogue between characters and a little humour. It is very easy to just pick up ad deliver after a quick glance at the slides.

3 HOURS OF LESSONS (one double one single). PowerPoints, worksheets, clip links, differentiated throughout, includes clip link activity, plenary, 3 LOs throughout - to suit Ofsted 'Good - Outstanding'.
The first lesson explores Jesus as the son of God and the redeemer as presented in the Bible, Isa the Prophet as presented in the Qur'an and what non-religious researchers have found out about Jesus the person from historical evidence. It includes quote analysis, a clip with differentiated questions, an information sheet, a very detailed and well differentiated PowerPoint and enough tasks to last two lessons. The second lesson explores Jesus' death - the Easter Story - and investigates why we celebrate this time even though it commemorates the death of Jesus.

International Women’s Day

In this lesson the students will investigate the history of International Women’s Day and the reasons why we continue to celebrate it today.
We will discuss inspirational women throughout history including but not limited to Ada Lovelace, Malala Yousafzai, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Rosa Parks.
The children will reflect on the importance of living in a society that is fair for all, and debate the reasons why we must continue to fight for equality, even though British laws already protect women from discrimination.
The lesson has been created in an ‘adaptive teaching style’ and highlights the use of both cognitive and metacognitive strategies. The lesson includes a detailed PowerPoint presentation, a video clip with questions, a discussion-based main activity, and a debate plenary task.

Easy to use DIRT feedback and evidencing progression sheet which uses Bloom’s matched to the new 9-1 GCSE gradings. Can be used for any KS3 or KS4 subject. It’s really quick for marking.
To use -
Highlight the skill they’ve used, e.g ‘you have explained the meaning of key phrases such as ……’
Highlight what they could do next to improve, e.g ‘evaluate (judge and assess) the most important reasons.’
Highlight their ‘do it now’ task, such as 'Write a detailed conclusion evaluating (add in subject), considering (add in item) and weighing up the pros and cons of each, reaching a conclusion, with exceptional SPAG.
On the same page their is a green-shaded box for them to demonstrate immediate progress through the ‘do it now’ task. They can then stick it in their books and you can return to see it or show it as evidence any time!
This works for any subject which involves any sort of assessed writing tasks. It has literally saved me weeks worth of time over the years.
