The Curiosity Crows

Average Rating3.00
(based on 22 reviews)

Welcome to The Curiosity Crows! I’m an autistic explorer with a passion for natural sciences and the planet. I create hand-drawn, minimalist, black and white coloring pages—ideal for early finishers, students who need a brain break, or as top-up pages and wet break time fillers. You’ll also find photo bundles of images taken in the days of camera film rolls, perfect for bringing a touch of exploration and nostalgia into your lessons. And paper dolls for top-up activities for your class.

A colouring activity to encourage students to be the best they can be, to be considerate for others, and to follow the classroom rules. Torchlight: British Islands: Festivals and Traditions: Photo Collection

Each summer the islanders on the island of Alderney in the British Channel Islands, march through the town with lit torches, before throwing them onto the bonfire and enjoying a firework display. This summer tradition is a way to celebrate what it means to live in a close knit community on an island, but also the return to the island after being evacuated during World War Two. A small collection of photos from my time in and around coastlines of Britain (Alderney, Channel Islands). Please note that some of these were taken with slide film before the arrival of digital cameras.

Seaside Festivals and Holidays: Raft Races: Alderney Week: Photo Collection

Each summer during Alderney Week, the island has a ‘daft raft race’ where people build their own boats and race to get to the beach first. It is all a part of life as a British islander in the Channel Islands. A small collection of photos from my time in and around coastlines of Britain (Alderney, Channel Islands). Please note that some of these were taken with slide film before the arrival of digital cameras.

Every summer the islanders and visitors of Alderney in the British Channel Islands take part in a competition on the beach to see who can build the best sandcastle or sand sculpture. I took these photos to share with my students overseas as we learnt about seaside holidays in Britain and our local traditions. Please leave me a review and I will send you any other resource of your choice for free (contact me: office@oceansproject.com). Check out my other resources at my shop: /teaching-resources/shop/sarah277 Let me know if you have any resource requests and I will tailor make a resource for you.

Journey to the Arctic: Photo Collection

A small collection of photos from my time spent working in the Arctic town of Point Barrow, Alaska. Photos were taken before the invention of the digital camera and are on slide film so the resolution isn’t as good as it would be today. However, the photos may be of interest to students learning about climate, or wanting to know what life is like if you go to school in the Arctic. Can you spot the polar bear footprints, and polar bear in the distance. Visit the local cemetary, school, softball court, homes, and see the tundra from the air. These photos are from the summer time. In the winter the town is in darkness.

A Viking themed colouring activity to help students answer questions about Viking Age culture and beliefs. Ideal for primary school students, and students learning English as a foreign language. The Havamal could be used to address behavioural issues with students as it gives advice on how to be a ‘good’ Viking. Be brave, positive, and be nice to your friends.
