All texts then have an extension activity, a crossword and a wordsearch for those fast finishers. Answers, for teacher use, are on the final page of each document. Each also comes with a teacher presentation to introduce the topic. Then, there is our Viking Age Empire Map Activities and Presentation. This hands-on resource brings history and geography to life. Students will explore the lands of the Vikings and beyond, uncover the secrets of major settlements, and trace the Vikings at their peak. Then, there are two biography writing units about Leif Erikson and King Cnut. These units have been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. The first lesson is interactive and involves them cutting out facts, and then sorting these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the children need to use these facts to write four paragraphs. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word. In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word. In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word. In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.
