After a recent Ofsted inspection our department has come up with a 'Check in System' in for pupils to review how they like learning. This form has worked wonders for us and has allowed us to get to know our pupils, especially our PP pupils (Pupil Premium), SEN & MAP (More Able Pupils) much better. All student need to make progress (Especially since the introduction of the Progress 8 scores)From using these forms we have come up with strategies to help students who are not attaining or reaching their target grades and we have initiated intervention strategies. This 34 page booklet contains various exercises to do with careers and focusing on students strenghts and weaknesses. They can be used as individual topics for PSHE lessons or as a module as a whole. Resource contains a PowerPoint lesson for revising the Present Tense in Spanish. It can also be adapted to be used as a lesson to introduce the same topic. It contains notes on formation of the tense, a worksheet that accompanies the lesson and also a selection of note sheets. The work sheets are in .doc format to edit and rework depending on your needs and also in .pdf. This ensures that when printing, all the worksheet is printed and none of the margins are missing.

Lovely lesson to introduce students to French! I usually use this at the start of each term with my students. It's nice to watch them discover all bout the culture and the language by themselves. I encourage them to research all about festivals & food. I generally find it is a lesson that they talk about and use as a frame of reference later on in the year.

Simple display cards to get your room and your students in the festive romantic spirit. My students love St. Valentines Day and the display is nice when surrounded by students Valentines Day cards in Irish. Alternatively use the activity attached also. I use these as a game first to introduce the vocabulary to my students. They are placed around my room and students are given a list of Valentines vocabulary in English. They then have to find the Irish equivalent. It's nice to watch students discover the vocabulary themselves as opposed to looking at a PowerPoint and writing everything down in a vocabulary book. Once the lesson is finished they can go onto a display board. This workbook contains an array of activities to do with both KS3/4 - Junior Cert and KS5 - Leaving Cert pupils. I use this resource as a revision for my KS4 groups. It is a simple PowerPoint that states the rules of the Conditional Tense in Spanish. With the PowerPoint I have attached a booklet to aid with the lesson. The booklet contains the following: - 4 activities that students can complete in lesson or as homework / revision. (Fill in the gaps x 2, translate sentence and write a paragraph) - A notes sheet on the formation of the tense - A notes sheet on the most common irregular verbs. The final file is a cute exit slip to finish the lesson and see if there are any big gaps in students knowledge. Enjoy! Claddagh Classrooms

This is a lesson I used for the first time this year and it worked really well with all my groups. (I had 6!) Included in the lesson are fact finding tasks, opportunities for student to highlight their prior knowledge and a questionnaire to endeavor to discover how students like to learn in lessons. This also asks students some information about the themselves that I use to build a rapport as the year progresses. It is a nice introduction to Spanish and you can do the lesson on computers OR as I have it laid out as a fact finding task. I stuck this into the start of my Year 10s Spanish book this year. It's a simple list of the Themes & Topics they will study over the next two years. Some students have highlighted each topic as we complete it. I think it's important for students to have a reference point of what they are learning and will learn about. Claddagh Classrooms
