This is a lesson that compares Lent and Ramadan. Split the class into groups and give them different information from the slides to present back to everyone else. Everyone presents their information so the class can discuss and record differences and similarities in Ramadan and Lent. The plenary is an assessment about whether or not fasting is the best way to show your commitment to God. I use this lesson as part of a Year 7 SOW about the Five Pillars of Islam and after a unit of work on Christianity.

A lesson that looks at the Muslim / Islamic views of Jesus / Prophet Isa. I use this lesson as part of a Year 7 SOW about Islam, after we have covered Christianity. There is also an assessment at the end that asks whether or not Jesus means the sames to Christians and Muslims and looks for clear comparisons between the 2 views.

Focusses on the issues of bias, misinterpretations, inaccuracy and islamophobia throughout the Western world, with focus on Britain. Examples from political views (UKIP/Trump), views from media sources and online media. Evaluates the extent to which the media influences Western perceptions of Islam and whether or not Islam is accurately represented in Britain today. Includes an assessment grid and essay question.

Worksheet that can be used for revision purposes. Students should link all the concepts in the bubbles to other bubbles and then write along the lines how and why the two concepts link together. Can be edited for specific themes eg the Mosque, or can cover the entire unit of work. I like to photocopy in A3.

This is a tracker I put at the front of our y12 and y13 essay books to help them track their essay progress. There is space to note whether it is an A01 or an A02 essay, the date, title and topic.
