This lesson plan aligns with Oklahoma academic standards 2.D.1.1 and 2.D.1.2, in which students will make bar graphs and pictographs with collected data with four categories using intervals of 1’s, 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s and recognize that the length in a bar graph and pictures in pictographs represent an amount. Use the graphs provided to answer the given questions. Count the number of pictures by the given interval and ask students which category has the most and how many are in each category. Making graphs as a class and asking similar questions is encouraged. Templates with smaller intervals are provided to make graphs as a class along with discussion questions.
