Rotation
Lesson presentations and activities
This was taught as a two hour lesson on rotations, both carrying out and describing rotations is covered here. I taught this to a middle ability year 8 group and by the end most students were comfortable with both LO's
I have differentiated for those students who aren't confident with co-ordinates for the first task and I have extended both activities with some problem based activities.
Included is:
Starter on co-ordinates with key words
AFL task to differentiate for the first task
Rotating Activity
Extension
Describing Rotation Activity
Extension
Exit Card/Plenary
PowerPoint

Fantastic resources, thank you!
A lesson and worksheet AFl assessed through ABCD cards. I have used this for a very low ability year 9 group NOTE: I have taken parts from other peoples powerpoints but I cannot remember who they were so I apologise. I thought putting them in this form was particularly useful

Practice questions, homeworks and assessments
Shapes rotate around centres of rotation to create a word. PPT provided to get them going. I've also included some examples of student work to this and the other transformations worksheets available in my resources

I too thought, it is a well-thought out lesson. yet my students complained. They tried to solve the jigsaw, but a part of B was missing and C was missing completely. The lesson had to be aborted. Maybe, the students and I did not understand something? It really is an excellent idea.

I don't review a lot of resources but this was awesome, just the fact that it spelt out a work that fitted with the topic, ( I didn't even think of that) my students loved it and they all wanted their work on the wall. Thankyou
Students rotate shapes around points on the grid to create a word. Created using Autograph in minutes unlike my other transformations jigsaws which took hours by hand :-)
thanks to Mrs O'Clee for spotting the mistake. It has now been corrected
autograph file included
