A new PSHE lesson in 2025. This lesson focuses on the importance of demonstrating positive behaviours in society by helping people - ‘social action’.
The aims of this lesson are:
- To understand what volunteering and social action mean.
- To recognise the benefits of volunteering for individuals and communities.
- To identify ways we can take social action in our own school or local community.
The lesson includes a detailed, editable PowerPoint, with embedded clip tasks, teacher talk and student activities. Worksheet is included. It also includes an editable ‘Do Now’ slide, for students to reflect back to prior learning.
This is suitable for KS3 or KS4, but is best suited to KS3, because of the types of scenarios being age appropriate for these students.
This lesson is accessible for specialist and non-specialist PSHE teachers and is ready to use.
This lesson can be taught stand-alone or as part of the topic ‘A Better World For Myself And Others’. More resources can be found on my author page.
