Extra GCSE lesson focusing specifically on the Ascension. My previous double lesson covers the Resurrection and introduces the Ascension, but this extra lesson will help students master the details of the Ascension stories and apply their learning to exam questions. All accompanying resources are based on the AQA Religious Studies A course, Christian Beliefs unit.
All resources have been updated in August 2025 in line with new AQA guidelines (6 mark questions, new question wordings etc.) Included in this resource:
- Lesson powerpoint with originally designed images
- A selection of Biblical teachings to help your students develop their knowledge of Christian sources of authority
- Matching ppt slides with animated highlight sections to help you guide the class in a structured group-read through the 2 Ascension passages
- A ‘do it now’ starter task with no printing required - a self marking quiz re-capping earlier learning in this unit
- Exam style questions for students to apply their learning
- Sentence starters to help lower ability students consider and construct their responses
