Thanks for looking :)

This class assembly is all about Space. It discusses the Sun and the 8 planets within, then moves on to the earth and its rotation and orbit of the sun. It talks about Constellations and ends with a dramatic entrance from a spacecraft with a ‘mini’ Neil Armstrong emerging and discuss about the 1st landing on the moon. You would need to build a make-shift space craft for a child to fit into. We used 4 large bit of card-board and stuck tin foil all around it and made an American flag. The children loved it. We also found a kid’s spacesuit for our mini Neil Armstrong. You will also need the Sun and Planets blow ups, easily and cheaply purchased from Amazon. It doesn’t come with a Space song, but again songs with lyrics are easily found through a simple youtube search.

A great assembly all about space, aimed at ks2 or upper ks1.

It contains 2 songs and a dance with youtube links. Printable S-P-A-C-E lettering for the children to hold up in assembly. There is also an optional powerpoint, just add pictures of your kids or their artwork of the planets.

Enjoy, this is such a fun assembly which the kids and audience will LOVE!

The following is a fun and engaging space project that students can undertake.

There are two projects in this file what students can do.

The first project is to create a planet using various resources like Polystyrene balls, paint, plasticine paper mache etc. Pupils must also research what will make their planet Habitable - with links to Biology and why certain aspects like the sun and Gravity are important for life.

The second project is simply for the students who are unable to get hold of the resources. The project is for them to do research into the planets/ISS in our solar system and is independent on what they want to do! However there are starting points that they can look into.

Give me a review if you like/dislike so I can improve upon it!

Thanks!

Please view my other projects that I currently have within my shop!

This Planet Fact File is the perfect activity for your children to learn all about the planets in our solar system by completing their own personal booklet. They are required to research key information about the planets in order to complete the booklet. This pack contains two sets, one set where they can draw the planets, and the other where an image is already on the information sheets.

You can use this activity in class, however lots of my class loved taking it home as a home learning project!
This is a really fun and engaging activity. Children can be set the challenge to see how fast they can find the planets in our solar system and the dwarf planet Pluto with these wonderful worksheets. Want to save paper, why not print some for a group activity and laminate them so that you can use them time and time again. You could even give children a blank grid and challenge them to make their space themed word search.

This bundle will be added to over time. It contains colouring pages linked to space and the world. These were created for my class as part of our science module.

A two part lesson based on the concept of traveling to Mars. Uses earth as a basis in all examples. Looks into gravity, day and night, seasons and distances. Peer assessment task included

This activity was done with a Y5 class as part of a maths lesson on accurately measuring length using cm's or mm&'s.
It was in the context of our topic &';Out of this World' exploring Space and the planets.
