Social Sciences at Hampstead School are hugely popular subjects at KS3, 4 and 5. Students thrive on the diverse curriculum we offer, leading to high uptake and strong GCSE and A level results with many students taking the subjects further at university. At KS3, students also have the opportunity to study Social Studies. A chance to look at a range of political, psychological, sociological and religious topics to help contextualise the world we live in and help build the foundations of those subjects.

We seek a candidate who is passionate about Religious Education, reflective in their practice and with a strong commitment to ensuring achievement for every student. You will get the opportunity to develop as a middle leader, lead the continual development of our curriculum and offer students opportunities beyond the classroom.

We need you to be

  • A highly-reflective teacher who wants to develop and improve their practice

  • Passionate about teaching Religious Studies at both GCSE and A Level
  • Interested in evidenced-based teaching strategies that help students in their learning
  • Passionate and enthusiastic about leading and developing the Social Studies subjects (History, Geography, Politics, Religious Studies, Sociology, Psychology, Criminology & Social studies) within the faculty.

Hampstead School is Camden’s largest maintained comprehensive School, educating 1330 students (including 300 in our stand-alone Sixth Form). The school is oversubscribed with a waiting list in all years, admitting 7 forms of entry from over 70 primary schools.
