2. Job Summary
The English Literature Teacher is accountable for delivering high - quality instruction in English literature at the international school. This role entails creating captivating lesson plans, conducting in - depth literary analyses, assessing student progress, and cultivating a positive and intellectually stimulating learning environment. The teacher should employ diverse teaching methods to meet the varied learning needs of students and foster their appreciation of diverse literary traditions, critical thinking, and effective communication skills.
3. Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Instruction
​​Lesson Planning and Delivery​​:
Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans in line with the school's curriculum standards and international educational frameworks (e.g., IB, A - Level, or other relevant English literature programs).
Deliver engaging and thought - provoking English literature lessons to students of different ages and proficiency levels, from middle school to high school.
Utilize a wide range of teaching strategies, such as close reading exercises, literary discussions, creative writing assignments, and multimedia presentations, to make literary works accessible and engaging for students.
Incorporate a diverse selection of literary texts, including classics, contemporary works, and works from different cultures and time periods, to provide students with a global perspective on literature.
​​Differentiated Instruction​​:
Differentiate instruction to accommodate the individual learning needs of students, including those with special educational needs and gifted students.
Provide additional support and enrichment opportunities, such as one - on - one tutoring or advanced reading groups, to ensure all students can thrive in their study of English literature.
