Position Overview:
The Director of Boarding is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the boarding program, ensuring a safe, supportive, and enriching living environment for students. In addition to overseeing residential life, this role includes supervising all student-led clubs, societies, and extracurricular activities to promote holistic student development. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with strong organizational skills, a passion for student well-being, and the ability to foster a vibrant boarding community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Boarding Program Leadership
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and routines to ensure a safe, structured, and nurturing boarding environment.
Supervise boarding staff (house parents, tutors, nurses, etc.), providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
Foster a positive and inclusive boarding culture that promotes respect, responsibility, and personal growth.
Address behavioral and disciplinary issues in alignment with school policies.
Ensure compliance with child 51şÚÁĎ and health & safety regulations.
2. Student Well-being & Pastoral Care
Act as a primary point of contact for boarding students, offering guidance and support.
Work closely with school counselors, academic staff, and parents to address students’ emotional, social, and academic needs.
Organize wellness programs, life skills workshops, and community-building activities.
3. Student Clubs & Extracurricular Activities
Oversee all student-led clubs, societies, and after-school programs, ensuring alignment with the school’s mission.
Provide guidance to student leaders and faculty advisors in planning and executing events.
Manage budgets, logistics, and risk assessments for extracurricular activities.
Promote student engagement by encouraging participation in diverse co-curricular opportunities.
4. Operational & Administrative Duties
Manage boarding budgets, resources, and facility maintenance.
Coordinate with the admissions team on boarding recruitment and orientation programs.
Maintain accurate records, incident reports, and communication with parents/guardians.
Organize weekend activities, holiday programs, and boarding transitions.
5. Collaboration & Communication
Liaise with academic leadership to support students’ academic progress.
Engage with parents through regular updates, meetings, and events.
Partner with external organizations for enrichment programs (e.g., service projects, leadership camps).
