This is a full lesson that I did as an NQT observation. It includes various activities such as reading comprehension, translation, quiz quiz trade speaking task etc. It aims to provide pupils with the necessary vocabulary and confidence to perform a role-play in pairs to the rest of the class. This was in preparation for Year 9 speaking tests.

These worksheets cover the topic of town and city (new GCSE spec). Reading comprehension activities, adjective agreements and translation. There is enough here for 2 lessons (depending on ability of your class).

These resources cover the topic of family. Pupils will learn different family members, physical descriptions, personality adjectives, possessive pronouns and various verb tenses. This powerpoint and accompanying resources is an ideal speaking-practice lesson for KS3 pupils (particularly once they have covered the ‘free time’ topic). Pupils will build vital conversational skills including responding to questions and asking questions. Pupils will practice speaking with their normal partners and will also circulate around the room speaking to people who they don’t usually communicate with - this will help build spoken confidence as pupils are encouraged to talk in Spanish other people. Pupils will also cover how to change and modify verbs from the ‘you’ form into the ‘I’ form - this will help prepare them for the listening and responding process.

These worksheets cover the topic of teachers. There is a lower and higher ability worksheet which involves identifying the teacher described. The other worksheet is a reading comprehension activity which includes questions about other people's opinions on their teachers. There is a great mixture of vocabulary in these worksheets.

They cover the topic of healthy living and sport, and cover a range of in-depth opinions and reasons. Reading comprehension, translation etc.

These cards aim to enhance fluency and spontaneity amongst KS5 pupils. The idea is that they pick up a card at random, ask their partner the question and listen to their partner’s response (and vice versa). All cards cover the different topics which come up at AS level (fashion, young people, family, tv, music, art, culture, internet and technology, tourism etc.) They are colour-coded based on topic and cover a range of different questions - ranging from the easier to the more challenging. Of course, this resource could be used in a number of ways but I used it with my Year 12 class as a spontaneous on-the-spot speaking activity in which pupils gave each other verbal feedback. It was very successful and pupils enjoyed the surprise element of it!

111 cards in total!! This resource is ideal for revision of different tenses. Pupils can either work their way through this 20 page document for revision, or you could cut up the tense cards (all differentiated and colour coded red, orange, green) and pupils could select cards at random and test themselves. This is a great resource for increasing spontaneity, fluency and accuracy as pupils must complete their chosen card as quickly as possible without making any errors. Adding a competitive element to filling out these cards worked really well with my class! :)

This resource covers different types of TV programmes, opinion phrases, comparative phrases and a mix of tenses. Skills covered include reading comprehension, grammar, translation, listening and writing. Activities can be altered to suit ability level, and there are 2 reading comprehension tasks included: one for higher ability pupils and one for lower ability pupils. Brightly coloured powerpoint with a wide range of different activities - enough to cover at least 3 lessons.

Once downloaded the layout of all resources goes back to normal. Crossword has ALL clues - preview not showing them all This presentation and accompanying worksheet are ideal for KS2 or KS3 Spanish. Basic greetings are covered as well as saying how you are feeling. Pupils are encouraged to practice speaking skills as well as produce written conversations. This lesson also includes a crossword on all vocabulary covered in the presentation. This could be completed as homework.

This Powerpoint and accompanying worksheets is aimed at higher ability students and encourages them to provide more complex opinions (and reasons) about teachers. The activities included in the ppt involve reading, listening, translation, writing and speaking. Grammar includes comparative phrases and superlative phrases, as well as adjective agreements.

A whole lesson on the tourist office -powerpoint and accompanying worksheets. I did this lesson recently for an observation and it went really well! :)

Christmas in different countries of the world! This powerpoint explains some of the interesting Christmas traditions that exist in different countries around the world. The powerpoint is in Spanish and there are a number of activities (reading, writing, gap-fill etc) to help build GCSE exam skills. This lesson also includes a section on the Spanish New Year tradition of ‘las uvas de la suerte’ in which students express their desires & wishes for the new year.

This powerpoint covers a few major festivals from the Spanish-speaking world. It provides pupils with key facts and information about these festivals and tests their knowledge. The powerpoint also includes a translation activity and 2 cultural questions with writing frames to help structure responses. LOTS of pictures and colour in this powerpoint to captivate and interest pupils - the Tomatina always goes down well!

This powerpoint and supporting worksheets cover the new GCSE topic of homelessness. The activities include reading, listening and writing skills and the opportunity to have a discussion on the topic. There is also a translation activity which fits with the new GCSE specification. There is enough content here for two lessons, with a potential spoken discussion activity the lesson after.

A great end of year activity. Clues are in Spanish and cover all topics from Year 8.

This powerpoint allows pupils to say what they (and other people) do before and after school using different forms of the present tense.
