BASTILLE DAY 2025 ASSEMBLY AND LESSON
This resource doubles up as an assembly and/or a lesson suitable for Bastille day 2024. The assembly is contained in the first part of the power point and looks at the Bastille day celebrations through the use of clips; images and information, and links it to the story of the French Revolution. It takes between 20 and 30 minutes to deliver.
The assembly could also be used as an introduction to a lesson on the French Revolution, and the second part of the power point contains a lesson about the causes of the French Revolution using source materials and an extended writing task.
The lesson is suitable for either key stage 3 or the older students in key stage 2

The lessons include varied activities intended to stretch and challenge the thinking of students; modeled answers to A level essays and sources. All resources are included as word documents, and each lesson is taught from dedicated power points.
Although you could adapt the lessons to avoid using a text book, to deliver this course effectively you would need access to the EDEXCEL official text book Democracies in Change.

This bundle contains the entire course covering the EDEXCEL A Level paper 2 depth study: Boom, Bustand recovery in the USA.
There are approximatey 50 x 1 hour lessons which are delivered from power points, and are fully resourced. It is important that all students have access to the accompanying Pearson text book which is endorsed by EDEXCEL for this course.
Each lesson starts with a challenge/recall activity to enable students to emerge themselves in US history/geography/politics etc. Essay writing and source work is addressed within the lessons, and homework is included. Activities have been devised to encourage independent learning and to stretch and challenge A Level student.
