Students practice descriptive adjectives and the verbs ser and tener playing the fun Guess Who board game in Spanish! This is a concise alphabetized reference of 31 bilingual Spanish/English vocabulary words and phrases needed for the game. Just ask students to bring in their Guess Who games and these handy reference sheets will allow them to play using the traditional games in the English box.
Spanish Adjectives Word Wall Classroom Signs - Los Adjetivos - This download includes 13 colorful 8 1/2 x 11 printable signs containing 36 common descriptive adjectives used for people. Next to each Spanish adjective is a clip art image depicting the word. Sample words are tall, short, fun, hard working, talkative, etc. Just print, laminate if desired, and hang where students can easily see them. The word wall is a great student reference and can also be used to present and review Spanish descriptive adjectives. This word wall can also be purchased bundled together with 6 other Spanish word walls.
Students research several areas associated with holidays and festivals celebrated in Spanish speaking countries. The areas are date/s, food, events, music and dance, location, religious celebrations, countries that celebrate the holiday, and history of the holiday.
Included:
1. 15 different templates, each with a different holiday and the categories listed previously. This is a fun investigative activity for students that can be completed in Spanish or English.
2. One template without the name of a holiday or festival to give you the option of adding more of either.
3. Page that includes several suggestions for using the materials such as a Foreign Language Week activity, Spanish Club activity, or just a homework assignment, to name a few. This has been used very successfully as a substitute teacher lesson in the computer lab. It's a great research activity for use with iPads or other tablets. The holidays can be researched one at a time over a period of several weeks which makes this a download of 15 assignments, or you can divide and distribute all 15 different templates and have different students working on different countries at the same time.

Spanish Clothing Fashion Show - La Ropa - Desfile de Moda - Student groups take turns introducing each other, telling likes, desires for the future including profession and describing clothing worn by each group member model. Included in the download: 1. Fashion show instructions 2 per page for paper saving student handouts. 2. Fashion show instructions in large font 1 per page for presenting and practicing vocabulary as a class.
This activity contains 10 fill in the blank with conjugations of the verbs ser or vivir plus 10 sentence completions with the nationality that corresponds to the country listed in the previous sentence. Students must also supply the masculine and feminine nationalities for 10 countries listed. The answer key is included.

Sample words are cuaresma, conejito de Pascua, huevos docorados, familia, cruz, primavera, Semana Santa and Felices Fiestas. Students find the words in the word search and are also instructed to write the English translation next to each word.

This is a helpful sub lesson. When students finish the puzzle, they can work in pairs to quiz each other on the vocabulary.

This activity contains 8 Spanish fill in the blank and sentence translations with direct object pronouns and food vocabulary. Verbs used are cocinar, lavar, comer, vender, ir a + comprar, traer, and tener.
Students are instructed to:
1. Substitute the direct object with a direct object pronoun
2. Translate the Spanish sentence to English.
3. Write a Spanish food word under each of the 8 clip art images.
The answer key is included.
This word search contains 20 Spanish color words and pattern words such as polka dot and striped. Instructions are given to also write an appropriate Spanish color word under each clip art image shown and the English translation next to the Spanish words listed so students get plenty of practice with the vocabulary.

Spanish Clothing with Artist Botero's Family Portrait - 7 Questions - Combine grammar, clothing, and family vocabulary with culture! This activity includes 7 questions about Colombian artist Fernando Botero's portrait of a family. Students respond to questions about what each family member is wearing. Botero's unique style is sure to make him a favorite with your students! A sample answer key is included, but student responses will vary.
This crossword puzzle is a great addition to your food unit! It contains 16 common fruits and vegetables, plus there are 11 clip art images for students to identify.

Students write a letter to Santa that explains their behavior and tells him what gifts they would like him to bring. There are 48 vocabulary words in Spanish and English to assist students in their letter writing. Included are words about behavior and many gift vocabulary words such as cell phone, clothes (there are 17 clothing words), books, toys, video games, skis, etc. The quantity and variety of vocabulary makes it easy for students to complete their writing assignments and makes this item useful for all levels of Spanish. A one hundred word essay works well for first year students. The word count can be changed for other levels and varying ability levels.
Spanish Greetings, Leave Takings and Basics Vocabulary Reference - This presentation and student reference includes 40 vocabulary words and phrases to teach or review basic greetings, leave takings, introductions, courtesies, basic questions/responses like how are you/I'm well, thanks, What's you name?, How old are you? etc. Accent marks and the silent h have different color font to highlight these from the very first time that students see them. There's also a brief gender explanation about the difference between masculine and feminine adjective endings. Daily review using this presentation will help students learn a lot in a short period of time. It's also a great review throughout the year.

Spanish free resource, saludos y despedidas
One booklet contains text and images, the other contains text only so students can sketch and create their own versions of the booklets. Each booklet contains 8 pages: the title page with El Verano with 7 additional pages containing Voy a + a summer activity. Activities included are play with friends, swim, go to the park, read, play baseball, play video games, and play soccer. Also included are suggestions for using the booklets and an assembly instruction page.
Students first read and cut out the booklet that contains text and illustrations. They then sketch and create their own version using the text only template.
The illustration version can be projected in class to present, review and practice pronunciation of the vocabulary. The text only version can be projected onto the Smart Board and students can draw pictures on the Smart Board that correspond to the text. Both booklets make helpful additions to interactive notebooks.
