A role-playing decision making game designed for a whole class of students (or even an assembly hall full of them).
Set in a post-apocalypic world with zombies, students must make decisions to survive and reflect on the reasons behind their choices.
Scenarios are meant to highlight the students’ prejudices/assumptions about life and about people.
It can also be used as a sequence of ethical scenarios. Students can play the game as a Christian/Buddhist/Muslim/Utilitarian/Kantian, etc, and practice applying moral systems to “real” life.
Based on Ninian Smart’s “Seven Dimensions”, this project guides students into designing their own worldview (or religion, if you prefer).
This project could take between 3 and 5 lessons, or be set as homework.
It can be guided using slides and support or more able students can be left to complete independently.
Steps include:
Choosing a core philosophy
Writing a foundational story
Designing rituals and festivals
Describing sacred objects and sacred places
Designing a community building
Creating a list of moral rules and guiding principles
Designing a pilgrimage experience

A full scheme of work introducing students to radicalisation and how it can be avoided through applying critical thought. Through teaching students how to spot logical fallicies in politics, religion and social, they can be better equipped to avoid adopting extreme worldviews.
Unit includes five lessons, a work booklet and an end of unit assessment.
This could be used for PSHE lessons or RPE lessons, aimed at students between 14 and 18.
This ties in strongly to teaching British values of independent thought and inclusiveness. It also links strongly with the goals of PREVENT.
