This is a 'Connect Thoughts' board. The task is played like the 'Connect 4' game where the class choose any 4 tasks to complete in a row. The rows of questions are leveled and is a great way to differentiate, I have found.

I did a lesson on negative numbers using Golf. I gave the class an actual Golf score card that I had filled in from the local Golf Club and then got them to work out the scores for the Golfers. This gets the class using negative numbers both adding and subtracting them to work out the golfer's scores. I give the class a blank scorecard to stick in their books and they copy the details of the actual golf scorecard I give them on to this. The powerpoint explains to the class what a 'birdie' 'bogey' etc are and how to calculate the scores.

I created this GCSE Trigonometry Revision sheet for my Y11 students. I printed the pdf document on A3 paper and got students to complete the questions on the sheet, adding in their own notes/mnemonics to help them remember when to use each rule/formula. The students really enjoyed doing this activity in class as part of their revision for their examinations and then took their A3 sheets home to use as part of their ongoing revision. Once the sheet was filled in, and checked/marked we used them to answer questions from text books/past exam papers. One of my students' completed sheets is attached too.

This is a plenary activity I do when teaching Properties of Quadrilaterals. I use my ABCD Fans (see my free resources) for this, but mini whiteboards would work just as well. 10 questions to test students knowledge on the properties of quadrilaterals.

This is my 'takeaway homework' menu I give to my students. The pdf contains a ready to print version of the menu to give straight to students. The idea is that they choose any task to complete for their homework from the menu. I set these homeworks over a half term and students have to earn a set amount of 'chillies' in these weeks. On the ppt file I have an editable version of the menu for you to change my name etc to suit your students - this can then be printed as above. I also have many examples of work from my students to use for inspiration as to what can be created. There are also some display logos and ideas from my current display board in the word doc. GCSE Foundation Revision. This is a topic audit that I am going to get my Year 11s that are sitting the Linear Foundation paper to complete at the start of their revision. All topics have been taken from the AQA Linear spec

Based on a popular app, and having taken inspiration from the ideas of @reflectivemaths and @srcav, I have created my own Mathematics version to add a bit of literacy across the curriculum. This set includes the words: letter, equation, formula, identity, and expression. I hope these are of use as starters to introduce topics. Differentiated by hiding letters to choose from initially and then revealing them if class struggle. For low ability I would reveal letters at the start.

I hope these are of use as starters to introduce the topic of polygons and then look at the interior and exterior angles of regular/irregular polygons!?

This is a template I created for students to create their own Mathematical advent calendar. The idea is that you print off the front sheet, students cut around the dashed lines to open the 'doors&', they then stick this sheet onto a blank piece of the same sized paper. Then, they write mathematical calculations, sums, equations etc on the &';doors', the answers to which will be the numbers 1-25. They then write jokes, fun facts, pictures etc in the &'doors&';. My Year 11 class have responded well to these slides!

Here's a set of 50 Mathematics Taboo Cards I have created; easy to change the Key words/taboo words as needed. I print these out, laminate them and then use them in class for revision or as a starter activity to engage students. Good for literacy across the curriculum.
