A printable revision card teaching students how to answer each question in the IGCSE Cambridge English Language exam

A fun, engaging and interactive lesson using the system of a 'Hunger Games' to discuss power and strength within Macbeth. Students are given a character at random, and some basic information, they then need to argue and discuss who would win a literary Hunger Games. There are 'weapons' cards that can be collected from the cornucopia, as well as 'health boosts' for students who the teacher decides is most persuasive. Really engaging way to consider the themes of power, corruption, greed and strength within Macbeth. Especially successful with middle-low sets to encourage engagement.

A 'mock' Eduqas component 1 paper created using an extract from To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Styled in exactly the same fashion as the new Eduqas exam and a useful way to train students in answering questions correctly.

To tackle the lack of enthusiasm about homework in my school I created a Nando's menu of homework tasks. This one targets key stage 3 and assists teaching of Boy by Roald Dahl. There are 25 homeworks already planned, differentiated by 'spice'. Since using these menus, where the students pick for themselves, the amount and quality of homework has improved

To assist students with exam practice, exam writing style and 20th Century fiction I have created an exam style paper for Eduqas English Language Component 1 using One Flew over the Cuckoo's nest by Ken Kasey. Component 1 consists of: Section A (20%) – Reading Understanding of one prose extract (about 60-100 lines) of literature from the 20th century assessed through a range of structured questions Section B (20%) – Prose Writing One creative writing task selected from a choice of four titles.

A selection of more than 60 recommend children's books for students to read made on an easily printable and easily adaptable powerpoint with a home made bunting effect. All you need to do is punch out the holes and print the pages. Great for World Book Day and general promotion of reading. A complete powerpoint using whiteboard games, discussion and writing tasks, including all necessary resources, learning objectives and success criteria to teach students how to use capital letters and full stops. A useful one off lesson to ensure key skills are understood and secure. A writing task and differentiated levels are present throughout lesson.

A set of revision cards that cover the entire play scene by scene with key quotes, key terminology and the major themes. Each slide is cut into 4 pocket sized cards that can be hole punched and put on a key ring to make a set of flip cards helping students with every aspect of the play. The last 3 cards cover the context, about the author and the key characters in the play. An incredibly useful revision resource for students needing to 'get to grips' with Blood Brothers ready for their English Litearture exams.

An A3 document that talks students through some key devices and technique to use throughout their written narrative to help them gain top marks. Students are given a list of useful devices, as well as a definition and an example. Students then can either pick out the devices used in any drafts or ideas, or come up with key examples that can be woven into any narrative they can write in their exam. Students are also given a useful 'Story Opener' guide, talking them through 7 popular ways to begin a short story, what benefits it has and an example. This sheet was useful for lower ability sets who struggle to embed creative writing devices within their work as it gave them some key sentences that they could use.

A complete, two hour, 'walking talking' mock where the teacher guides students through example questions and how to achieve top marks. Students are given a created exam paper with a Shakespeare extract and essay question, as well as a poem from the anthology and the exam questions. The powerpoint then talks the students through timings and how to answer each question. A fantastic revision aide and great training for the exam. All resources are included with this purchase.

A lesson with a range of tasks to help students write a lively, engaging and fit for purpose article. This is a potential question for the Eduqas English GCSE. The lesson comprises of a BINGO game identifying persuasive language techniques (with link to interactive game), as well as an exam style question, a range of tasks and embedded timers within the PowerPoint. An interesting and moving P4C lesson on secrets and trust, using an emotional article showing lots of notes other students have written about things they wish their teacher knew. A really engaging and informative lesson helping students consider philosophical issues whilst encouraging positive relationships with teachers and peers.
