Full project booklet to accompany a construction project to make Tudor houses. The comprehensive booklet takes the children through the design process. Projects asks the children to make wooden Tudor houses. We made ours by making the timber frames and then used thin card and paper mache to replicate the wattle and daub, so we made the houses in the same way the Tudors would. The booklet includes a comprehension about Tudor houses. Research pages about models of Tudor houses, 45 and 90 degree corners, joining wood, design brief, concept and final designs, safety, evaluation during and after making and more! Two activities to learn about why the marriage between Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn ended. They will decide what subheading each paragraph should have (to suit an explanation text) and then colour code the statements. The children also have to decide which pieces if information would be suited to an introduction. This can lead to children writing their own explanation text about storms.
