NCFE has created bespoke resources including learner activity question and answer work sheets, engaging PowerPoint presentations and explanatory videos. In addition, this reform resource pack now includes brand new session plans and knowledge checks, to identify and support learners’ understanding. These versatile and editable resource packs can be used to either support classroom delivery or independent learning. Bespoke resources covering each of the five themes of the qualification, including 28 engaging PowerPoint presentations with embedded explanatory videos (transcripts included) and learner worksheets.

Session pack, including lesson plan, PowerPoint presentation and Activity Sheets covering 2 hours of learning. General aim of this session: The session aims are: Understand the harmful effects of alcohol and drug use, including possible health issues. Understand where to seek help and support on alcohol and drug misuse. Learning objectives of the sessions: By the end of this session learners must be able to: •State what alcohol is and the unit strength of different types of alcohol drink. •Identify types of substance which are misused. •Identify why people may misuse alcohol and drugs and the effects of substance misuse. •List the effects of withdrawing from alcohol and drugs. •Identify sources of help and information in relation to alcohol and substance misuse. Some learners should be able to: •Produce a leaflet suitable for parents outlining the signs of substance misuse. Some learners could be able to: Prepare a talk to give in assembly explaining the effects of substance misuse on family and friends.

You should be able to: •Identify causes of mental distress. You could be able to: •Devise a mnemonic, poem or poster promoting openness in talking about mental health issues.
