SB9m lesson from the new Edexcel Biology GCSE (9-1) all about rates of decompostion. The lesson includes factors that affect the rate of decomposition, preserving food, making compost and calculating the rate of decomposition.

SB3f lesson from the new Edexcel Biology GCSE looking at the work of Gregor Mendel including what he did, the conclusions he drew and the response at the time. One of the tasks (about 10 minutes of the lesson) involves the use of the Pearson ActiveTeach worksheets, but could easily be replaced by other worksheets/tasks

SB4f lesson from the new Edexcel Biology GCSE (9-1) all about tissue culture. The lesson includes a selective breeding recap, what tissue culture is, uses of tissue culture in plant breeding, the stages involved in tissue culture and the uses of tissue culture in medicine. Also included is a structure strip to help students stucture the write up to the cauliflower tissue culture practical in their books (the idea is that they stick it down the left side of their page and write the correct information in each section).

SB2f lesson from the new Edexcel Biology GCSE (9-1) all about brain and spinal cord problems. The lesson includes work on CT scans, PET scans, spinal cord problems, brain tumours and treating brain tumours.

A series of lessons looking at climate change and global warming. Lesson 1: Causes- what global warming is, what greenhouse gases are, are humans the cause, deforestation and fossil fuels. Lesson 2: Effects- data about climate change, sea level rise, ocean acidification, warming oceans, shrinking ice sheets, extreme weather events, effects on health and a graph drawing exercise. Lesson 3: Solutions- what can governments do, the Paris agreement, what businesses can do and renewable energy. Lesson 4: Solutions- what individuals can do to combat climate change. There are lots of exercises and information included in each lesson and it could easily be condensed down into fewer lessons by excluding some tasks. Likewise some of the tasks could be stretched out across several lesson depending upon the time you have. All worksheets/resources needed are within the PowerPoint as hidden slides.

CB9a lesson from the new Edexcel combined Science GCSE (9-1) all about ecosystems. The lesson includes resources organisms need to live, ecosystems, populations, communities, habitats, interdependent relationships, food webs, sampling and abundance.

Revision exercise for a KS3 science class. Intended for the class to spend 10 minutes on each section which has a question from different topics across the Exploring Science KS3 curriculum.
