You’ll find in this set :
The IB Lang B Guide 2020 (in French)
The Research worksheet (3 pages)
The correction
This is a research activity that could be done as a first lesson to introduce the students to the IB. They have to work in groups to research and find key information in the guide about the IB exams, themes to study during the course, etc.
Expect this to take a good chunk of your lesson. Can be used both with SL and/or HL students.
Ideally they would have some kind of digital devices to open the guide in front of them.
A treasure hunt on google maps in the city of St Malo.
This is a creative way to introduce directions and/or the topic of “ma ville” or “mon quartier” with your students.
You will find 2 versions of the same resource, both with answer keys included. One version is more suited to introduce directions while the other is tweaked to be more suited to introduce prepositions and the topic of “ma ville”/“mon quartier”.
This is a unit of work I created this year during Spring term 2 on: il y a/il n'y a pas, places, directions, and prepositions.
It is based on a video game that I played called Legend of Grimrock, an excellent dungeon-crawler on PC. I recorded myself playing and used sequences to create the lessons around it. The resources have had great sucess with the students in my school (especially boys!)
Example of activities you will find in the resources:
- Bingos
- Listening activities and extended reading ones.
- Speaking activities while monsters attack or writing activities while attacking the monsters.
- odd one out
- separate the sentence
- etc.
All resources are differentiated and have AfL activities included. Videos should be all ready to go in view mode and self-explanatory but please don't hesitate to contact me in case you need more information on how to run something.
Keep in mind that my school is an all-ipad school and this is why the powerpoint is linked to many online resources / games.
In addition to the powerpoint and videos, here are example of resources included in the pack:
- Ready listening made by a native speaker included in powerpoints
- Links to relevant Kahoot quizzes
- Links to relevant Quizlet vocab sets
The resources are in French but can be adapted to any languages, any year group, and potentially any topics if you are imaginative!
Perfect for practicing French speaking in context while having fun! This is a game based on “le loup garou de Tiercelieu” that has been simplified. It can be done with intermediate to advanced classes.
Mafieux are killing everyone in the village, policemen need to stop them !
All you need to do is write some letters on pieces of papers, read the instructions of the game with your students and that’s it, you can start the game as the narrateur and you students will be “mafieux”, “policiers”, and “villageois”, they will love it and will keep asking you to play it all along the year.
It can be quickly adapted to any languages !
