Spanish - Physical description (worksheet)
This could be used as homework or as cover work.
This worksheet includes:
-Introduction to basic vocabulary about physical description (1)
-Introduction to basic vocabulary with short description examples (2)
Two short listening activites for students to identify the person that is being described (you could describe different people or get students to play who is who at this point or later during the lesson.)
Grid fill where students need to describe people in TL and fill a grid that they could use for revision later on.
Grammar section (verbs + adjectival agreement.)
Reading exercise (vocabulary search and reading comprehension questions.)

This is a short lesson that can be used online or in the classroom (you can save it as a Google Slides file or any other software similar to Powerpoint. It contains:
Short introduction to Spanish Geography where students can label the different CCAA (Comunidades AutĂłnomas) which could be good as a starter.
A vocabulary activity to work on cognates taken and adapted from the AQA A-Level book.
A three section reading activity to work on cognates that could be exploited to do some translation into English so students can compare and see differences between Spanish and Catalan, Euskera or Galician.
A listening activity with videos (a language that did not appear in previous activities has been introduced here: Aranese) where students can listen to (and see) different people talking different languages and they need to:
Identify the language.
Listening for the gist and write down some information about the speaker.
Rate the difficulty of the language (personal) and find examples to explain this.

Y8/Y9 French - La Technologie
This lesson covers the topic of Technology and use of technology in French.
Parts of the lesson:
Starter activity based on key vocabulary and phrases for technology.
Objectives in French for students to translate.

Y8/ Y9 French - La nourriture et les repas
Lesson for Y8 / Y9 or early GCSE students of French based on the topic of food, meals and introduction to healthy diets.
The lesson contains:
Introduction based on the vocabulary of food, drinks, meals, etc.
Learning objectives for students to translate (talk/share/discuss.)
Miniboards translation French to English / English to French or simply dictation based on the new GCSE skill.
Listening task (audio files included) with transcription and answers highlighted.

Y8 / Y9 Spanish - La comida
Lesson on food, opinions on food and reasons.
Starter with a sentence builder in which students have to match the images of the subjects with the Spanish terms followed by retrieval in the opinions and new content on reasons (bueno/a, picante, etc.)
Spanish to English / English to Spanish / Spanish dictation task - link to the new GCSE Specification (based with whiteboards if possible). Introduce at this stage the gender and number agreement with adjectives but without explaining the rules yet.
Slides 6 & 7 focused on grammar and the adjectival agreements followed by practice with gap-fills for masculine/feminine/singular/plural.
4 short text listening task in which students have to fill in the missing words. Audios included.
Reading task based on the same text the students used for the listening.
Battleship pattern to do more speaking based tasks and drill opinions + food and reasons.
Independent task for students to write a paragraph on foods they like/dislike and give reasons about it.

Revision - Mi Colegio, las asignaturas, el uniforme, las reglas, etc.
This is a quick revision on the topic of **school, rules, uniform **with some key verbs in the preterite / Preterite Indefinite (Simple past) and some conditional and near future verbs.
This could be use with different groups based on volume of work, complexity, etc. (Y8 to Y11 - Use this the Y8 to Y11 range with discretion).
Match up the Spanish with the English.
Complete the missing gaps in the parallel translation.
Students create their own sentences by adding more and more information based on what they did before.
Notice that this could be different to what you have taught and this could be used as a starter, plenary of simply as an additional task.
