A pair of lessons covering sections 5.2.3 f-i of the OCR Chemistry specification- electrode potentials The first lesson starts by looking at what half-cells are, how they are formed and the importance of salt bridges. It also covers how they can be used to measure standard electrode potentials. The lesson then covers half equations and using them to calculate the voltage of a electrochemical cell. The second lesson looks at the feasibility of reactions and how they can be predicted using half-cells. It also looks at the limitations of using electrode potentials to predict reactions Both lessons include lots of student independent work tasks and all answers are included I am to reduce photocopying so all activties are in the PPTs (30 slides and 25 slides each)

The lesson starts be recapping some electrode potential calculations and a method for measuring those potentials. It then introduces cells and discusses the difference between primary and secondary cells along with associated calculations. The lesson then focuses on fuel cells including the difference between an alkaline and an acid fuel cell The lesson includes a starter, full notes, various student led activities and a differentiated summary at the end. All answers are included. I actively try to reduce photocopying, so all of the lesson resources are within the PowerPoint rather than as extra sheets.

A complete lesson covering AQA GCSE Biology section 4.7.2.4 – The Impact of Environmental Change. The lesson begins with a retrieval quiz revisiting key concepts from across the Biology specification. Students are then reminded of the concept of species distribution before being introduced to the key environmental factors that influence it. Understanding is checked through an initial application question. The lesson then explores these factors in more depth, including human impacts, temperature, and water availability. These concepts are reinforced through an exam-style question and explored further via focused case studies. A complete revision lesson covering the digestion section of AQA module B2- organisation. It also covers the two RPAs (enzymes and food tests) that occur in this topic. The lesson opens with the food tests RPA followed by looking at the components of a balanced diet along with the role of each nutrient in the body. The lesson then moves to look at the digestive system, its components and their individual role. It then looks at the stomach as an example of an organ with its tissues and their functions. The lesson the moves onto enzyme action and the enzymes of the human digestive system. It then covers the enzymes RPA before finishing with a series of exam questions.
