A three pack of reading comprehensions for year 5/6. Footsteps in the Attic - spooky short story with accompanying comprehension quiz and answers. Bonfire Night - short non-fiction opinion piece about the author’s experiences of Bonfire Night as a child. Comes with comprehension quiz and answers. The Crack at the Edge of the Universe - 10 page novella, teacher written, that tells the short story of a NASA shuttle sent to investigate a mysterious crack at the edge of the universe. Things soon start to go wrong! Accompanied by a comprehension quiz for each two chapters and answers for ease of marking. All comprehensions can be done as guided reading, whole class guided reading or individually. Questions and answers modeled on the type used in year 6 reading SATS for good practice.

6 questions per sheet differentiated using chillies - so teacher can differentiate or pupil can self-differentiate. Questions for LA based on 3-digit nos divided by 2-digit nos (no remainders), building to 4-digit nos divided by 2-digit with remainders for MA and HA. A very good task if you have a pupil/pupils racing on ahead in class and require a holding task or greater challenge to keep them motivated. The Christmas views of a rather grumpy Christmas tree who is dragged indoors every December. Written in the first person, the story/narrative is accompanied by a comprehension quiz (15 questions) requiring pupils to infer, recall, retrieve, state true or false, state fact or opinion, consider word meaning/comprehension and look for synonyms. Questions are styled to be a good practice ahead of the SAT reading paper. All answers are included for ease of marking.

A useful year 6 revision tool comprising of 19 grammar and punctuation questions. Also includes 20 spellings with a mixture of year 5/6 list spellings, frequently used words and homophones. Questions targeted on: clauses adverbs and adjectives relative clauses word classes tenses ‘a’ and ‘an’ formal language passive and active voice All answers are included for ease of marking.

A full workout on long multiplication - starting with multiplying 3 numbers by a 2-digit number and progressing to 4 digits multiplied by 2-digits. Exercise provides a 15 question workout that focuses greatly on the 6,7,8 and 9 times tables and tests pupils’ handling of larger numbers from the 20s to the 90s. Ideal as a maths revision task, holding task or starter/plenary. Answers are included on pages 3 and 4 for ease of marking.
