A full unit of work for the plants Science topic! 6 lessons with the following objectives: What conditions do plants need to grow? What are the functions of the different parts of a flowering plant? How is water transported within plants? What do the flowers do in the life cycle of a flowering plant? What is the process of pollination and dispersal? What factors affect plant growth. Each lesson follows the following structure: Flashback - a recap of prior knowledge. Lesson objective - introducing what today’s learning is. I do - explaining the learning to the children. We do - a collaborative task to embed learning. You do - an independent task. Some lessons include practical elements too (including growing plants and observing water transportation in plants using food colouring). An assessment is also included.
