In this lesson students will learn what a fossil is and what the stages of the fossilisation process are. They will draw each stage before looking at The Fossil Record and answering questions on the different eras and periods.
They will learn about Darwin’s involvement in fossils and will how they prove evolution today. They will also learn about Mary Anning by watching an informative video clip and with support from the worksheet, will present what they have learnt.
By the end of this lesson, students will have a good understanding of how fossils evidence evolution and are studied today.

In this lesson, students will work towards the objectives: To describe the movement of the Earth and other planets relative to the sun in the solar system and to describe the sun, Earth and moon as approximately spherical bodies.
They will first learn about how the Solar System formed before learning how we know that the planets are spherical. After this, they will be tasked to explain what they have learnt so far. Following this, they will learn about how the planets orbit the Sun and will be tasked to demonstrate this by creating a Solar System from toilet roll and fruit.

In this lesson, students will learn about the baby, toddler and child stage of the human life cycle.

In this lesson, students will learn how Anglo-Saxon was ruled by kingdoms and the heirachy of people within a kingdom. They will learn that Britain was split into kingdoms and will look at artefacts to gain more of an understanding about daily life for Anglo-Saxons.
They will learn where they lived and how they lived before being quizzed on this knowledge. They will then be tasked to create their own Anglo-Saxon village and present it to the class!

In this lesson, students will learn what the metric and imperial units of measurement are and will relate these to objects in real life contexts. The Hobbit, or There and Back Again is a children’s fantasy novel by English author J. R. R. Tolkien. The Hobbit is set within Tolkien’s fictional universe and follows the quest of home-loving Bilbo Baggins, the titular hobbit.
This lesson is based on The Hobbit, Chapter 2. It looks at the rules for speech punctuation and how to alter speech according to different characters. Students will add in the correct speech punctuation to an extract as well as write the dialogue for a clip of the trolls.

Persuasive Advertising is a type of product promotion that aims to persuade a consumer for buying a particular product.
In this lesson, students will learn the FREDEPTORS acronym for:
F- facts and font
R- repetition
E- exaggeration
D- description
E- emotive language
P- pictures
T- the rule of three
O- opinions
R- rhetorical questions
S- slogans
They will look at a range of persuasive adverts and will be challenged to decide how they are made persuasive to their audience. They will then try to sell an item themselves using these techniques using the activity sheet provided.
Free verse is an open form of poetry, which in its modern form arose through the French vers libre form. It does not use consistent metre patterns, rhyme, or any musical pattern. It thus tends to follow the rhythm of natural speech.
In this lesson, Children learn what free verse poetry is and how poems are structured. They look at example free verse poetry and identify repetition, rhythm, stanzas and how imagery is created. They then have a go writing their own free verse poem as a cold task based on an image using the scaffold provided.

In this lesson, students will compare the lives of rich and poor Victorian children. They will learn what jobs poor Victorian children did through videos and reading and will undertake research on each of these: ideas will be given.
They will also learn about how the lives of Victorian children were changed as a result of the actions of Dr Barnardo and Lord Shaftesbury and will be tasked to write a persuasive letter to Queen Victoria arguing for the rights of Victorian children.
