I spent four years creating this resource and it is now finally published! This resource is a workbook which explores the vocabulary and grammar exclusively extracted and followed from the Cambridge IGCSE French textbook second edition (published in 2017) and most of the third edition (published in 2019). The latter may have some differences regarding the order of the contents of the book which may not appear in this resource, but it does exclusively follow the second edition. Moreover, the activities are extensively differentiated. The contents of this resource cover all of the topics covered in the 2017 textbook, EXCEPT for ’ C6.1 - trouver son chemin’, ‘C6.2 - Ca se trouve où, sil vous plait …?’, ‘C6.3 - Pouvez-vous expliquer exactement …?’, ‘C9.1 - On se deplace’ and ‘D4.1 - Je vais leur téléphoner’. Please do keep an eye out for the accompanied listening workbook, also extracted from the 2017 textbook edition, in which the listening activities have been modified and extensively differentiated. This resource looks at general expressions that use the verb ‘faire’. It is particular useful at Key Stage 3, when students are becoming more acquainted with the verb ‘faire’ anf have already mastered the conjugation of the verb in the present tense. This presentation gives a thorough explanation of how to form the present participle in French in a way to convey that two actions are happening at the same time. This would be ideal for students who are studying IGCSE French, A-Level French and adults who are simply studying french for the first time or revision.

This resource exclusively looks at the distinction between ‘jouer à’, ‘jouer de’ and ‘faire de’ and it is geared towards Key Stage 3 level or it can be great revision at GCSE/IGCSE level. Students can either become acquainted with musical instruments and sports for the very first time or consolidate their previous knowledge by looking at the vocabulary and reading the cartoons. This lesson is designed to give a fundamental idea of how the conditional tense is formed and its use. This lesson is specifically geared towards students studying the IGCSE French programme, but it can also be used for the standard GCSE programme and good revision for AS/A2 French. I tend to use the IGCSE French grammar workbook which is what I am referring to on slide 7, but feel free to make up your own exercises or get them from a different grammar workbook. Hello everyone and welcome! This powerpoint exclusively explores the four different ways of using the four different interrogative words for ‘which’ in French. The first activity revises the demonstrative adjectives which the students could do as a warm-up activity. Subsequently, the powerpoint introduces the four different ways to express ‘which’ in French. As each one is explored, display each poster in the classroom to illustrate each meaning and it is a very resourceful way to make use of the working walls in the classroom. Throughout the powerpoint, the students will be acquainted with the verb ‘acheter’ and its conjugation. The students can note its conjugation as they progress through the powerpoint. When the students begin the production stage of the lesson, they can complete the activity on page 59 of the slide. The activities are differentiated and the students can choose which level best suits them. The answers are provided on the subsequent slides of the powerpoint. I have devised a powerpoint about the functions of direct object pronouns in the present tense which greatly facilitates teaching and learning as they can be complex at times. It contains several examples of practising direct object pronouns and there is an exercise at then end of the powerpoint which follows. This powerpoint is geared towards students of IGCSE level as it is themed as one's hometown. Happy teaching and learning!

Here is a powerpoint, regarding shopping in terms of clothes and colours and various other shopping situations and it is geared towards Key Stage 2 French. There is also some differentiated vocabulary incorporated for stronger and gifted and talented students. There are also various interactive activities which reinforces on what the students have learnt.

This resource exclusively looks at the position and agreement of adjectives using the BAGS system. Students read the cartoons and then answer the differentiated questions which follow. There is also a subsequent quiz which the students can do which revises what they have learnt. This resource is geared towards students of Key Stage 3 level and great for revision at Key Stage 4. I know irregular verbs can be very difficult to master at a young age as it is a highly dynamic concept and there are so many, however this resource explicitly looks at them at all. The following irregular verbs which are explored are as follows: etre avoir recevoir savoir faire mettre croire vouloir connaitre prendre dire lire voir ouvrir devoir pouvoir boire Get the students to read through the cartoons about Xavier’s week. Ask the students the follow up questions and ask what their thoughts are. Reveal the answers to them on the next slide. Upon completion of reading the text, get the students to complete the follow-up activities. This resource is geared towards learners at Key Stage3 level and in preparation for IGCSE level. This resource explicitly explores the use of the passive voice in the present tense which is introduced towards the end of the IGCSE programme and prepares students for the A-Level programme. In this resource, get students to look at the differences between the active voice and the passive voice on slides 2-10. Next, get the students to read the speech bubbles in the cartoons and after each example, get them to answer the questions using both the active and the passive voice. Feel free to provide extra support for those who are less able. After the story, get the students to practise forming the passive voice by conjugating the sample verb ‘etre observé’ and then they can select any activity that they feel most comfortable with. I would recommend the gifted and talented to attempt activity 4, whereas the less able students should attempt activity 1. Happy teaching and learning!

It can also be used at any other curriculum similar to the GCSE/IGCSE level or maybe even at A-Level or IB level. This resource explicitly looks at the use of the term ‘venir de faire quelquechose’ (to have just done something). Get the students to read the cartoons on the slide and then each cartoon has a question about what is going on. Get them to decide which is/are the correct answer/s. Spot the difference activities are followed and the students orally state what has just happened in the second picture. These activities contain visual support in case the students aren’t sure how to something in particular in French. There are also reinforcement activities which the students can complete. This worksheet gives students the opportunity to build up on their vocabulary by searching for French synonyms and also further practise these new words. A very useful tool when developing learners' writing in preparation for the exam. This worksheet is geared towards very high achieving students, gifted and talented learners and learners whose native tongue is French.
