Percent of a Number Halloween Jigsaw Activity Google Form and Worksheets
Are you looking for a fun Halloween activity for your students? In this percentages resource, students practice finding the percent of a number. Students complete a 20 piece digital jigsaw using Google Forms and use the accompanying worksheets to calculate the percent given the part and whole.
Both multipliers and divisors are used throughout to calculate an equivalent fraction with a denominator of 100.
Use for independent or group work, subject review, early finishers and homework.
Google Form
Each question answered correctly results in one puzzle piece being added to the jigsaw in the Google Form until the puzzle is completed. Students will only proceed to the next question when they have answered the percent of a number problem correctly.
If an incorrect answer is selected, students will see a message saying “Oops! Try again.” The student will then be given an opportunity to re-try the question. Incorrect answers in the multiple choice selection contain errors that commonly occur when students make percent calculations.
Worksheets
There are two formats provided for students to calculate answers to each problem and record their work: black and white and colour coded format. This means a teacher can differentiate for student learning style or need within the classroom.
Each worksheet is aligned to the Google Form questions and provides a ready to use layout for the students. I have found these useful to use in my classroom to spot errors in calculations and to prevent guessing of answers.
Question formats include:
What percent of 50 is 27?
What percent of 300 is 171
