An introductory PowerPoint to the new (2024) GCSE MFL (Languages) course for AQA for French, German and Spanish. Great for students (and staff!) for the first lesson. A 15-slide PowerPoint presentation which starts with a Do Now activity covering German topics covered so far. It then asks students to brainstorm days of the week, activities, opinion adjectives, and times by way of an introduction. There is then an example “invitations” dialogue and a listening exercise to pull out the main facts. There are then some comprehension activities (unjumble the sentences, correct the mistakes, and translation into English and into German and a listening exercise to pull out the day, the activity and the time. It ends with ordering a dialogue and then copying or creating an individual “invitations” dialogue. This is lesson 37 of many available for Year 7 (Y7) or first year German. Bundles available! A 13-slide PowerPoint presentation which starts with a Do Now activity covering German topics covered so far. It starts with a short “hook” video about “Sommerrodeln” and asks students to form their opinion on it. There is then a match-up activity for adventure sports, like mountain biking, white water rafting, canoing etc. There is then a short explanation of the word “man” and “Man kann…” is introduced. Students are asked to form sentences using “man kann”. The four seasons are then introduced and students are asked to put these into more “man kann” sentences. It ends with a creative piece of work, in which students are invited to make a brochure for an adventure centre to practise the “man kann” sentences with adventure sports, plus their opinions. One of three speaking booklets to help prepare students for the Unprepared Conversation part of the AQA GCSE German speaking exam. This booklet covers Theme 2 (Popular Culture), i.e. 4.1G, 4.1F, 4.1H, 4.2G, 4.2F, 4.2H, 5.1G, 5.1F, 5.1H, 5.2G, 5.2F, 5.2H, 6.1G, 6.1F, 6.1H, 6.2G, 6.2F, and 6.2H. The content matches the 2024 OUP AQA GCSE German book and each question matches the lessons on my resources available on TES (/teaching-resources/shop/IndieSinger). The booklet includes: A reminder of the mark scheme for the Unprepared Conversation part of the speaking exam.
