This is from a series of posters I made for revision of the characters in A Christmas Carol. They each display quotes that would be useful to revise for the GCSE exam. This one is of Ebenezer Scrooge. Your download includes five separate files: the complete poster as a jpeg and as a PDF, a picture-only version, and versions showing just the quotes with the picture, or just the traits with the picture. The traits (in red) serve as the point in a PEE/PEAS/PETER type response. The quotes (in black) are evidence. SUGGESTED USES Ask students to expand on each of the comments and link them to given themes; Do the above but as a walk-around activity, with each character poster stuck in the centre of a large blank sheet on separate tables. Students then add to the sheets as they move around the room; Show the traits-only poster and ask students to add evidence for each trait; Show the quotes-only poster and have students identify the trait suggested by each piece of evidence; Using the picture-only version, ask students to fill in independently before going through as a class; Print in A3 for display use; Print in A5, along with other characters, to create individual revision booklets. This was initially delivered to a middle ability Y10 class who had studied Romeo and Juliet as part of their Literature course. You don't have to have done Romeo and Juliet, but my using the picture of Juliet in the crypt meant that it served as a little revision exercise too. Similarly, the lesson makes reference to a piece of descriptive writing the class had completed on Frankenstein - you can easily alter this to refer back to something you have done. The lesson refers specifically to assessment objectives and encourages variety in vocabulary choices and sentence openings. It was supposed to be for a 75 minute lesson but I found it could easily cover two one hour lessons.
