Starter pack for new SENCOs, to support them in their new role and help them get started. These are the files/documents I used to support my role. This pack includes: • EHCP guide - legalities, how to apply, what happens if accepted, what happens if rejected, mediation and tribunals, the annual review process. • Classroom support – broken down into the four broad areas of need, for teachers to have some guidance. • Communication cards – cut out whichever would suit for students. • Criteria for EP involvement – I use the 6 guidelines to help me decide as to when to bring in EP involvement for a child. • EHCP funding tracker – I use this to track the current funding for my EHCP students. Has formulas so should calculate for you. • EHCP section F tracker – I use this to break down the entirety of section F for my EHCP students, to track which interventions they need to be in and for how long. • Overall provision tracker – can use this to track the overall provision of a students in one big document. • SEND acronyms • SEND referral form – this may not be needed in primary but it’s a way for teachers to make a referral to you about a child and provide you with information you may need • SEND register – a template of my SEND register – the ‘data’ sheet at the beginning automatically updates with any addition or removal of a child • Task management board for students to use in lessons • Worry tree – a sheet to work through with students who demonstrate some worries • EHCP tracker – I use this to track who I want to apply for and what stage in the process I am at. Please do give me feedback so that I can amend to meet the needs of those who would benefit from this pack! Feel free to email me - misshresources@outlook.com.

EHCP application tracker

EHCP application tracker

I created this resource for myself as SENCO to keep a track of any EHCP applications I was in the process of writing. It allowed me to: Prioritise the applications Track which student had had internal input, which input it was and when, and if those recommendations had been implemented and reviewed Where I was with the paperwork of the applications Whether the application had been sent, and the status Notes for any additional information Track how many EHCPs I had sent, historically, and their status (approved/not approved) I hope it is helpful to you! This sheet is part of a huge ‘provision tracker’ excel sheet I have and used myself as SENCO, which can be found in my shop.

The third lesson from my Frankenstein scheme. Focuses on what it means to be human, what it means to be a monster, nature vs nurture. The lesson raises certain discussion points, resulting in the class writing a personal response to a clip of ‘The Elephant Man’ shown.
