This resource contains a PowerPoint, a video and a student question sheet to help students to:
Explain how hydrogen bonding occurs between water molecules, and relate this, and other properties of water, to the roles of water for living organisms
Describe a range of roles that relate to the properties of water, including solvent, transport medium, coolant and as a habitat.
Everything you’ll need to teach a lesson on the properties and biological Importance of water.
The PowerPoint also has the answers to the student question sheet.
A PowerPoint with triggered animation, suitable as a starter or plenary retrieval practice activity that you can use again and again in multiple subjects and topics.
How to setup: This takes very time to prepare! Just gather suitable retrieval practice questions you want to review with the pupils and go.
How to play the game:
Divide your class into 4 groups and designate each team an animal. Whichever team gets the questions right, click on the animal and it will move part way across the screen. First team to get their animal to the right of the screen wins.

How to play the game:
Divide your class into 2 groups and designate each team (blue or red). Whichever team gets the questions right, click on the appropriate action button and it will move the ball part way across the screen. When a team scores a goal the editable text box allows the teacher to display the score. The game can last as long as you want!

How to Use:
Print out as many copies of the A3 board as you need for your class. I laminated mine so that they can be reused. Each board is designed for 2-6 players. The students roll a dice and move their counter. In order to progress they need to answer a variety of GCSE Science questions (read by another player) including the tricky ‘Give Me Five’ questions.
The first player to reach the finish line wins!

Great for helping your students to recall and use the subject specific vocabulary by thinking of a concept or meaning and retrieving the correct word. A form of retrieval practice which is essential for fixing new words into long-term memory and helping to remember the words in new situations.
