A small project designed for KS3 students who have studied the holiday topic—this task gets them to plan a holiday to a Spanish-speaking destination.
It works well in small groups or pairs. Students can be given a boarding pass with a destination and date on it, or they can decide for themselves.
With this, they’ll need to plan a holiday, taking into account:
-Accommodation
-Weather forecast
-Clothing and other items they’ll need to bring
-A full itinerary
-Useful local information (food, traditions, currency, etc.)
-Budget
As you can see, it links to a few relevant topics within the scheme of work and works a treat to round off the year with something a bit more creative and relaxed.

Format: idiom in Spanish - English translation and an example in Spanish.
Example: topic 1B: ser pan comido - to be a piece of cake. ‘El examen de ciencias fue pan comido; estoy seguro que voy a sacar un 100%’
I’ve used this resource for a year with my top set year 11 class and they’ve found it extremely handy to learn one or two idioms per topic to then use in their speaking and writing to ensure they tick the boxes for a good grade.
This resource includes a 90 slide ppt presentation I prepared to teach the new Edexcel International GCSE 9-1 for my Year 10 group. As the textbook isn’t great, I created many extra resources to combine with working on the textbook.
What’s included: resources for Unit 1: Everyday life at home and school, which at the same time includes activities for section:
1C Food and Drink (subunits 1C.1 to 1C.4 included)
I have different bundles available on my profile for each textbook topic.
2 worksheets for students to understand and practise opinion verbs in Spanish.
One worksheet for KS3 students.
Another worksheet with a wider range of verbs that work like gustar and with more activities for them to practice and start using this type of verbs properly.
Each worksheet comes with answers.
An easily adaptable booklet made for pupils taking the Edexcel Spanish IGCSE 9-1 exam to prepare for their oral exam conversation: tasks B and C conversations.
Each topic has around 8 questions with a differentiated section (in red) where students are encouraged to think more critically and use more advanced tenses / structures. There is a question in preterite and future in each topic, too, to check the boxes with the 3 basic tenses.
At the end of each topic students get suggestions of extra tenses (in blue) that they can use to hit the top band marks.
You can quickly and easily adapt the questions to your students. This resource should provide them with examples of what they will be asked in this part of the oral exam and to prepare for it by planning answers to all of them.
