Year 1 grammar Flashcards have been created to help children understand the definitions that they will come across whilst learning grammar. As the children are young it would be a good idea for the adult to read the words on the cards and see if the children can identify what they are. For example Adult: The words on this card is a vowel. Do you know what the 5 vowels are? lets say them together. Adult and Child*: a, e, i, o, u.* Adult: Do you have any vowels in your name? Lets have a look child write names on a peiece of paper and adult direct child to colour in the vowels The Year 1 grammar Flashcards can be used in what ever way the adult feels is suitable for the child.

Some children need a visual resource when using the alphabet in activities. This could include dictionary work, working with rhyming patterns, letter strings etc. The vowels are designed in yellow and the consonants are designed in black. Once you have laminated this A4 sheet you will need to stick them together to make an A3 alphabet line.
