Here you’ll find a powerpoint and word document plan to support a ‘getting to know you’ exercise with your new classes.
I’ve found this to work really well with both KS3 and KS4 classes. It gives me a clear insight into who these lovely young people are, as well as a sense of their capacity for writing.

Make a note of passions they list when reading through their responses so you can consider this in your teaching for the rest of the year. I always offer a sweet treat reward for the funniest or most interesting answers!
