Half a term (20 min sessions each - 2 a week) on careers based lessons. 12 lessons in total. Students will explore different career aspirations and what they might like to do in the future and they will start to think what they might need to do to get there, planning for the future. Students will explore times of change in their lives and how this links to qualifications and careers and will also reflect on creative and long life skills, and the importance of these within careers. All lessons matched against CDI framework and PSHE Association objectives.

The lesson will cover the condition endometriosis. Students will identify what Endometriosis i, explain the symptoms of Endometriosis and assess how Endometriosis can be treated. The condition affects 1 in 10 women so there will be students it affects at some point in life.

Half a term (40 min session a week) on careers based lessons. Students will explore different career pathways further, looking at entrepreneurs for example to broaden their knowledge on what is available to them. Students will reflect on further skills building on from year 7 such as teamworking, interpersonal and communication skills, and the importance of these within careers. Students will explore STEM Careers and will learn about different roles and misconceptions. All lessons matched against CDI framework and PSHE Association objectives.

A reflection section is included where students state how they felt about each topic taught within PSHE and Careers. There’s a section for students to evidence what they learnt for each topic. Students then highlight things they did well during Personal Development sessions from a checklist and briefly explain why they did well at those certain aspects. They highlight things they need to improve from a checklist and explain what they need support in. List of useful websites for students at the end for further support in Personal Development.
