Ideal as a starter for a careers lesson.
Colour coding task.
Gets pupils to think about grouping careers and talking about the sector that they'd like to work in
A 24 page workbook which begins with different forms of ACTION taken by campaign groups to force change (direct, indirect and illegal) Then work on the action taken by a number of groups: The Suffragettes, The IRA, THE EDL and ISIL/ISIS. The texts can be read alongside youtube clips or pupils can simply answer the comprehension questions. Pupils assess how 'EXTREME' these actions are after working on the definition of EXTREMISM.
It moves through to TERRORISM and how terrorist organisation recruit young people, how people become RADICALISED and what you should do if you suspect someone is being radicalised.
Small, individual tasks are included (mix and match tasks, colour-coded tasks, definition tasks and other puzzles.
This definitely needs teacher input and I have tried to keep it as factual as possible but in as simple a form as possible.

A powerpoint presentation to teach Valentine by Carol Ann Duffy. Each slide enables pupils to choose annotations and place them correctly on their own sheet. Task also include a poetic devices activity and an end essay looking at positive and negative aspects of love as portrayed in the poem with success criteria.

Reinforces the need to make a point, use evidence from the text and then add some explanation or analysis. The second sheet (chapter 10) asks pupils to add their own information to form coherent PEA paragraphs.

A set of cards which can be laminated and used as an activity to talk about how a 'typical' relationship may progress. Can lead to discussions about what is appropriate when it comes to a relationship becoming sexual. Also useful for showing that there are many 'stages' in progression to sexual intercourse. I use this with Year 9
