This resource was created for a Year 10 class, who were beginning to learn about electronics, and the basics of electronics. It takes them through the various components and has a worksheet as well.
The resource created, includes a powerpoint with different scenarios based on health and safety and risk assessments. There is a detective ID badge template, for students to create their own ID badge. There is also a Detective’s report sample and template. This was created, and the students were put into different groups. Their job was to become detectives, and carry out an investigation for their scenario, which is given to them in the powerpoint. Using their findings, they can fill out their detective’s report.
This Powerpoint goes through the following:
demonstrate an understanding of the following heat treatments; annealing, normalising, hardening, tempering.
demonstrate an understanding of the main features and applications of the following tools and processes; derforming (vacuum forming, line bending, metal folding).
This is a PowerPoint made for a GCSE Technology and Design class. It goes through:
demonstrate understanding of the main properties and applications of the following metals; ferrous metals and alloys, non-ferrous metals and alloys.
demonstrate an understanding of the use of alloying to produce different properties and working characteristics.
demonstrate awareness of graphene and provide some examples of it’s properties and it’s potential use.
This resource is a safety officer sheet for when the students are using the Pillar Drill. The idea behind this resource is that student’s are paired up with someone in their class, while one person is using the Pillar Drill, the other is assessing them. They can fill out the safety officer sheet as follows.
This resource was created as part of a game. The students were split into groups, and were given a pack of the flash cards. It is their job to sort each wood into their groups; hardwoods, softwoods and manufactured boards.
Each flashcard shares the name of the wood, and a few properties.
There is also a report that the student’s can fill out, stating another property or wood that might be missing from their pack.
This PowerPoint, comes with a SolidWorks File, and lesson plan. This lesson was created based on electronics, and students can solder their own circuit and connect it to an Easter Egg template.
