Sustainable city of the future
Lesson 1 - Grouping, task explanation and brainstorming
Lesson 2 - Research and beginning of project design
Lesson 3 - Project building/writing
Lesson 4 - Project presentation
x4 lessons where students research and design a specific aspect of a sustainable city.
Resources include presentations, worksheets.
Can be differentiated by reducing the amount of groups, taking out the complicated councils like water conservation etc. Or scaling up and having each group think about each aspect and making their own. I have thought about doing this and the students all voting for the best city.
Lesson 1 is teacher led, and the continuing lessons students use their own motivation - I promised chocolate and sweets to the best team (I’ll be giving them a party at the end of the year.)

Empowering Learning Through Reflective Assessment: The Lesson Plan
The Assessment Scheme Toolkit is a structured, research-informed framework designed to enhance student learning through effective assessment and feedback. It promotes deep understanding by incorporating strategies like active recall, spaced repetition, and interleaved practice, while also fostering metacognitive skills through student reflection and goal setting. The toolkit supports exam readiness with targeted practice and command word instruction, and empowers teachers with ready-to-use lesson templates and self-reflection prompts. It is inclusive and adaptable, offering scaffolding for diverse learners and strategies to boost engagement and behaviour. Overall, it creates a positive, feedback-rich learning environment that encourages growth and academic success.
