22 Reading and Writing lessons based on the text ‘The Barnabus Project’ by the Fan brothers. These lessons are aimed at Year 5/6 children. The resource includes a range of skill based reading questions and answers as well as writing opportunities.

Reading activities includes questions on the following skills: vocabulary retrieval inference prediction explanation summary Each lesson starts with a vocabulary focus for the chapter, followed by comprehension questions. Answers for each chapter are provided. These lessons were taught to a mixed ability Year 6 class.

A story map that covers the key points, with supporting quotes from each stave of Charles Dicken’s ‘A Christmas Carol’ This resource can be used as a model text for staff to enable children to write their own versions or can be used to remind children of the key events as they progress through the text.
