A crash testing experiment lesson we did using jelly babies as the crash test dummies, we built lego cars using the instructions added (these were built from a pick and mix selection at the lego store which cost £6 and built 6 cars), then added seatbelts (elastic bands), crumple zones (paper) and airbags (marshamllows large ones are best). All worksheets are included

A simple foodtasting worksheet for pupil to fill in with a little certificate for afterwards - I use it in form time to encourage reluctant eaters to try new things with a geographical food tasting

A simple CSI lesson - I set up a crime scene with fake blood(made out of jelly and red food colouring and warm water or buy fake blood from the pound store) (i made a hand print, blood drops and a drag mark) a head, some weapons (cricket bat, rolling pin, toy gun) and a sealed packet of drugs (flour taped up in a plastic wallet) - the first lesson had pupils collecting evidence and the second had them analysing the blood splatter from the scene all resources needed are included in the powerpoint

the first half of the new AQA entry level science planning including the first component of physics, chemistry and biology should cover year 1 of teaching the course - including a lesson i developed that could be useful for a TDA and the long term plan for entry level that can be adapted.

a short extract from the Golden key one of the Grimms fairy tales is given to the children and they continue the story from where they left off. on the second page is the complete fairy tale which the Grimms often left unfinished at the end of the their tales to give an indication of more treasures to come

A basic look at the history of brain science and why we study the brain - pupils information gather about brain scanning techniques and then feedback which one they think is the best method for learning how the brain works. All resources needed are included in the powerpoint

An introduction to 3D printing. Includes evaluation sheets, coding worksheets and card sorts as well as example coding files - these will need converting from plain text as the file isnt supported. Also included is an introduction powerpoint and a 3D printing checklist for student use.

A lesson i wrote for higher ability KS3 but can be KS4 about waves and wave speed calculations. Includes all lesson resources and a progress check sheet so can be used in observations as well.

A lesson on car safety, using a Kagan structure to look at car safety features and getting pupils to evaluate which one is best, all resources included within the powerpoint, i photocopy the first slide as a lesson starter

a KS3 lesson where pupils play a guess who style game to identify each others symptoms and work out what disease they are suffering from. It then encourages pupils to think about what would happen if doctors made a misdiagnosis. it encourages pupils to think about different types of medical testing and allows for really good debate. This fits in well with the disease topic and worked brilliantly with my pupils.

A formtime reading challenge, with a simple introductory challenge and survey to see the pupils reading habits before they start the challenge, I then set my pupils a target for the end of the year of numbers of books for them to have read as a class and gave them all a reading achievement sheet that they will be using to gain extra rewards for, this can be followed up with a weekly reading session during form time

A set of resources i have produced for pupils to practice simple customer service around running an enterprise stall, where they peer assess each other and as an extension they have a series of problems that might arise at an event that they have to say how they would deal with. The peer assessment is in the form of a checklist and a star and a wish form of feedback
