This resource consists of three A3 sheets for A level Product Design One sheet has two A level Product design type questions that relate to environmental impact and consumer choice. the two other sheets are full mark schemes for the two questions This type of questions may feature in papers because these issues are currently very topical . Q2 also relates to the properties of two materials (Bamboo and polypropylene ), It is possible that these type of questions may feature in both Product Design exams. The questions also relate to more sustainable products offered by high street retailers.

Plant Moisture Sensor Electronics Project - Full Teaching Pack This project is intended as an introduction to Electronics for KS3 pupils This full teaching pack will enable Electronics to be delivered in Design and Technology or Engineering covering many of the current requirements of ofsted. This pack contains all resources needed to deliver this eight week introduction to Electronics Student workbook Student Home learning booklet Powerpoint slides for each weeks lesson Youtube clips for each lesson/ practical task Scheme of learning Spreadsheet of equipment required for delivery and details where to purchase components and equipment and cost to set up. Two A3 classroom Safety posters for glue gun & Soldering Iron This delivery pack will allow teachers with little or no previous experience in Electronics to deliver each stage of manufacture, testing and packaging is covered in the accompanying Youtube tutorials. More experenced teachers will find an off the shelf project ready to deliver . This project can be taught in Non D&T specific teaching areas and covers, Components, resistors, transistors, LED’s, it has been developed to produce a fun and challenging Electronics project for KS3.

This is a set of exam questions that form a A3 test paper or possibly an end of unit test for graphics , the test covers orthographic, isometric and exploded drawing. these are the main areas of graphics covered in GCSE Design and Technology Product Design and also GCSE Engineering . This resource includes a student friendly mark scheme and a dedicated Youtube clip that explains the mark scheme. There is also a front sheet to complete the package. the clip is avalable on my YouTube channel "Mr Ridley Design and Technology.

Four sheets covering hand tools for metal and hand tools for wood . There are two worksheets and two learning checks which can be used later. These sheets are supported by walkthoughts of some of the questions on my YouTube channel.

This resource covers types of metals, ferrous and non-ferrous, and alloys for GCSE D&T or perhaps KS3. This comprises an A3 worksheet and an A5 Learning check sheet. this sheet was created as an introduction to metals for GCSE D&T and to complement my YouTube clip " Types of Metals" the seven minute clip contains all you need to complete the sheet. This could be set as home learning if a link to the clip could be provided for students.

A set of questions on an A3 sheet based around wood processes, the sheet contains two drawing type questions as these are common in most of the GCSE specifications. this sheet could be used as a lesson covering GCSE D&T generally or as part of a revision study lesson. Zentangle homework KS3 art Three KS3 art homeworks for KS3 art or graphics. three homework tasks on 3 A4 sheets all based on mark making using Zentangle images. these are all supported with a YouTube clip to explain each one to students. these could also be used as cover work as the clips expain clearly how to tackle each task

The manufacture of Iron and steel Home learning resource for GCSE A complete resource for students to complete a home learning task to understand the process of converting iron ore into steel. With a limited time to cover all areas of the specification for GCSE Design and Technology, Product Design or Engineering, it is useful to set some of the required areas for home learning tasks. This resource contains an A3 working sheet and an additional A4 support sheet which highlights the 5 main stages of the production of steel from iron ore. The home learning task is also supported by a Youtube clip which I created to provide additional support for students. You get; A3 working sheet A4 support sheet

This question also has links to the work of Philippe Starck and postmodern design. These are a set of sheets which give detailed instructions and coloured parts which allow students to manufacture a range of battle damaged Warhammer 40K buildings in a few simple stages. This resource comprises three A3 paper building templates and an A4 sheet of propaganda posters. These sheets are supported buy a step by step guide to construction which is available to watch on my YouTube channel. I created these to use with a KS3 Warhammer club but they could be used as a standalone D&T Graphics project perhaps for KS3, there are three building parts to make all of which can be combined to make a 40K cityscape. This is a 12 page support booklet guides students through the first 6 sheets of the GCSE D&T NEA. Using this booklet enables students to prepare for each sheet of section AO1 of the Coursework folio. I find this is very useful to ensure that students are adequately pre-prepared before they access computers especially if computer access is limited. These booklets can be also used to support home learning and preparation for completing NEA sheets. There is also a checklist for sheets 1-6. I have also added an additional blank front sheet if you would like to add your own instructions.

KS3 Design and Technology literacy focus - Using the Laser Cutter I have created this sheet to enable year 8 D&T classes to have a lesson focused on reading and technical writing. I comprises a few paragraphs of text describing how to cut a keyring design on the laser cutter. The description contains a range of technical and non technical words such as tessellation and etch. Students read through the text and then answer 5 comprehension question which relate to the description of the technical process.

Composite Materails GCSE D&T Question and Walkthrough A GCSE Design and Technology questions on Composite materials, complete with Youtube walkthrough . A4 GCSE type questions and an A5 learning check to use in a subsequent lesson. This is supported by a short walkthrough clip on my Youtube Channel. This would also be of some use for A level product design students.

A pack covering Wood and manufactured Boards for GCSE D&T This consists of two A3 worksheets and two Learning checks sheets. These sheets can be used with the revision Clips on my YouTube Channel. There are also Question walk-thoughs for the learning check questions and some of the worksheets. These could be used in KS4 D&T lessons and would be suitable for online learning.
