Using the Eduqas GCSE 9-1 sample question as a basis, these 15 extracts are designed to replicate the exam question structure, both with the extracts and questions on the extracts, and also with essay questions for part b). Hopefully, these will provide structured exam practice and revision.

For CIE IGCSE Literature, 18 practice papers on Dickens’s ‘Great Expectations’ Part 2. Each paper has an extract, extract question and general question on character or theme, as in the exam.

For CIE Literature, 22 practice papers on Great Expectations, Part 3. Each paper has an extract and extract-based question and a general question on character or theme, as on the exam itself.

For CIE ‘Pride & Prejudice’, 37 exam papers for exam practice. Each paper has an extarct and extract question, and a second question on character or theme.

For CIE War of the Worlds, book 2, these 26 exam practice papers have an extract question with references to find the extract but not the extract itself due to copyright. There is also a question on the whole novel. These are similar in style to past CIE exam questions.

One of the first horror stories, this famous and often copied tale is a good introduction to both the genre and the style of nineteenth century literature. Each of the 8 extracts is taken from a key moment and includes a range of questions, (vocabulary, language analysis, and information retrieval.) As such, I think they are similar to GCSE 9-1 papers and so might be useful for pre-GCSE students, or for tuition.

These 4 comprehensions contain various types of questions: vocabulary, information retrieval and language analysis.
