I am a qualified teacher with specialisms in Spanish, Geography & Irish. I have worked as a teacher in Ireland, Australia and the UK. I teach children the way I want my son to be taught. I try to make colourful resources that will engage and make teachers and students lives easier. I don't always get it right but I'm always learning and striving to.

This resource contains all the necessary displays for your Irish classroom this Christmas.
I use these as a game first to introduce the vocabulary to my students. They are placed around my room and students are given a list of Christmas vocabulary in English. They then have to find the Irish equivalent. It's nice to watch students discover the vocabulary themselves as opposed to looking at a PowerPoint and writing everything down in a vocabulary book.
Once the lesson is finished they can go onto a display board. I've attached the .pdf for easy printing.
This PowerPoint contains all you need to know about the Possessive Adjective in Irish. It contains three small activities the first of which focuses on students ability to discover the grammar rules for themselves.
The PowerPoint covers rules for consonants and rules for vowels and an activity to practice learning for both.
The final slide mentions a homework activity which is part of a work booklet. This can be bought on its own or part of a bundle.
Finally there is a revision mat with all the rules for students to pop into their notes folders / books:)
Bain taitneamh as!

This us perfect for revision and also as an accompaniment when teaching the topic. All activities can be printed and used as stand alone starters / plenaries or homework tasks:)
Simple display for days of the week as Gaeilge. I have a space on the top right hand corner of my board where the day and month are switched everyday. ( I am no longer asked. 'Miss whats the date?' twenty times a day!)

Lovely lesson to introduce students to Spain. I usually use this at the start of each term with my students. It's nice to watch them discover all bout the culture and the language by themselves.
I encourage them to research all about festivals & food. I generally find it is a lesson that they talk about and use as a frame of reference later on in the year.

After a recent Ofsted inspection our department has come up with a 'Check in System' in for pupils to review how they like learning.
This form has worked wonders for us and has allowed us to get to know our pupils, especially our PP pupils (Pupil Premium), SEN & MAP (More Able Pupils) much better.
It must be shown that all students are making progress (Especially since the introduction of the Progress 8 scores) From using these forms we have come up with strategies to help students who are not attaining or reaching their target grades and we have initiated intervention strategies. (All which Ofsted love!)
