Progress Ladder Feedback Grid for KS3 and GCSE Writing and Speaking for the 9-1 GCSE in French, German and Spanish I have created this Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 writing and speaking marking feedback grid for the new AQA 9-1 GCSE and use it with general or assessed pieces of French, German and Spanish work. The grid is linked to a progress ladder that we use in school, which shows the elements students are required to include to progress from grades 1-9 in the two skills in these subjects. My school has been using it since October and I have found that it has really sped up my marking time. I circle elements that students haven’t included and they must refer back to it before completing their next piece of written or spoken work. I also insist that my students learn these elements by heart in order and they have done this, which is definitely helping with an improvement in grades. Hopefully it’s useful to you all as well! 2 WORKSHEETS FOR STUDENTS WITH QUESTIONS ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THE GDR 1 PPT with my own answers (you may wish to watch the clip and edit answers, although it’s not 100% necessary!) A worksheet to be used whilst watching avery accessible 45-minute video from br.de about the history of the DDR. The video is in German and the questions relate directly to the video and are in order of information. I split this up with my Year 12 film students into 4 lessons: Firstly, we translated the questions and guessed what the answers could be / discussed this in small groups and as a class Secondly, students watched the video in their own time (as homework) to get the gist and add little bits to their sheets Finally, we worked together in the lesson - I played the video and stopped for each question. Students worked in pairs and fours to add further information and then I went through it with them to complete the worksheet.

Goodbye Lenin Resource - Die Geschichte der Mauer Quiz A nicely presented worksheet to go with an online quiz from WDR for students to test their knowledge on the history of the Berlin Wall. Use this for students to have a copy of the answers of facts, as well as useful vocabulary in German to use in their Goodbye Lenin essay questions. The useful quiz is in PDF format and contains 10 multiple choice questions, a link to the online version from WDR, as well as a question in German for students to answer. Answers can be found on the website.

An A Level German translation on the topic of: ENVIRONMENT / die Umwelt, perfect for all exam boards, including Edexcel.
